I have learned no matter how we meet: face-to-face; in poetry or prose; phone calls; song melodies or lyrics; text messages; video conferences; e-mails; dreamscapes and deja vu musings — we give and take from the exchange…

I share and receive from every meeting I have, like yin and yang.

I prepare for any meeting with a stated or subliminal agenda. First I identify my goals and then project what I intend on sharing to underwrite or support these “desired outcomes.” My test for my agenda outline is a quick filter of; theWhotheWhat — theWheretheWhy “ smell test.”

This process has elevated itself to “auto-pilot” status, is very simple and has yielded some phenomenal results, which ultimately conclude that in most meetings both parties leave feeling empowered…

…I go to a Doctor’s office seeking a better understanding of my health challenge or journey — my Doctor looks forward to calling on her/his experience base to review my circumstances with a selected “lens” which can only grow or stengthen her/his knowledge base, if my experience-set becomes an “overlay.” In the best of best outcomes, I leave with an evolved knowledge of my health plateau and an elevated sense of action items for resolution…the Doctor on the other hand leaves with an evolved understanding of treatment of my type of dis-ease.

…thus a win-win for both patient and caregiver as both evolve as a result of the journey!

This model or “procedural roadmap” has similar application for all of my planned meetings or encounters in a day…basically if both parties remove their ego-based shields and “give it up,” then both leave the meeting with a revived, empowered understanding…

…thus I think we empower each other, but only if we come to the meeting with our egos in check!

…and so it seems to me, with every kernel of empowered sprouting, there’s evolution….
